Online Safety Institute is conceived as a platform to gather and exchange experiences, and to create a publicly accessible systematic repository of the best practises to increase awareness about safer use of the Internet and new media.

Among the main topics of our research activities you find social and psychological aspects of a safer use of the Internet, influence of social environment in family, school and relevant social groups (children, youngsters, parents, grandparents, care takers, teachers, librarians, etc.), social role in online activities (communication, games, social networks, etc.) and last but not least analyze of efficient ways of education and teaching including questions of PC literacy, responsible use of miobile communication gadgets and media education.

A specific field of interest represents questions related to struggle against online crime and prevention of minorities. Among others you find here child pornography, slavery and child trade, prostitution, selfabuse, addictions (gambling), misuse of social communities, etc.

Out of the priority research tasks remain technological questions (technical aspects of securing computers and networks to viruses, spam, phishing, etc.) and security (crisis management, hacking, business intelligence, etc.), those aspects are however analyzed in relationship to education of the Internet users.
